Pivot-The Calculator for the Stock Market Trading World

If you use the Pivot in the Corporate World, the attention gets straight away pulled to the Microsoft
excel which uses Pivot Table. It’s used to make meaning of the various data fields in the excel sheet.
Similarly the Pivot Calculator is an on online tool which is used to create Pivot Points.
What are Pivot Points?
Pivot can means either turn around or reverse in the trading world. Pivot points are technical analysis
indicators which are used to determine the support and resistance levels of the stock market in different time frames. The time frame can vary depending upon objectives viz. analysis for intraday or swing or positional trading .

How is the calculation done?

The Pivot calculation is done taking 3 reference points i.e.
High (H)
Low (L)
Close (C)
Once you have these 3 reference points, you automatically get the Resistance Level (R1, R2 and R3) and
Support Level (S1, S2 and S3).
The Pivot points are static and remain at the same point. Data from the previous day’s trading trends is
used as the input to generate the pivot point levels.

Some features of Pivot

• Trading above or below the pivot points indicates the overall market sentiment.
• The support and resistance levels calculated from the pivot points are used as an entry or exit points of the trade. If the trend reaches a higher point then the trader may look to exit by booking profits in long positions and if the trend reaches a lower points then the trader may look to exit to avoid losses or book the profit in short positions.
